Viral sequencing began in 2020 but given limited resources was not able to reach everyone, meaning those commonly underserved communities were not part of the data collection and public health decision making.
With an eye toward rectifying that oversight, our goal is to reach these communities, our communities, and collect 200 samples to be representative of the demographics of Lincoln and Webster Parishes. A secondary goal is to create a model for others. We are eager to share our materials, resources, lessons learned, and insights with anyone interested in taking on this important work. |
